Restart A Heart Day

October 16, is a global initiative to raise awareness and education of CPR in community launched by European resuscitation council. We are proud to say that the international organization committee has invited the College of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka to participate in this campaign for the first time to represent Sri Lanka in 2019.

The main event was held at the Viharamahadevi Open Air Theater with the participation of professionals from various fields, including popular artists, media personals, journalists, teachers, school children, arm forces and public. Training sessions were also carried out in 17places across country under the guidance of anaesthetists.

More than 800.000 people were trained in CPR globally on and around 16 October 2019. World Restart A Heart was awarded the prestigious Ian G. Jacobs award for International Group Collaboration to Advance Resuscitation Science at the Resuscitation Science Symposium (ReSS) organized by the American Heart Association.
